“Ik ben erlangs gelopen omdat het in de folder met toeristische bezienswaardigheden van Turnhout stond ("een voormalige kloostergemeenschap van de Minderbroeders"). Het zag er van buiten mooi uit, maar ik heb geen kans gehad om binnen te kijken.”

“Het paterspand is het voormalige klooster van de minderbroeders . Na een onderbreking van honderd jaar vestigden zij zich in 1897 terug in Turnhout. Na het vertrek van de paters kocht het verbond van christelijke werkgevers en kaderleden in 1989 het kloostercompex . De meest ingrijpende fase van de verbouwingswerken was het omvormen van het klooster tot een dienstencentrum zonder afbraak te doen aan de bestaande structuur.”
